How do I become an Amazon Flex delivery partner?

  • 1. What do I need to become an Amazon Flex delivery partner?

    • 1.1 Become a delivery partner: Requirements & necessary documents

      • 1.1.1. What requirements do I need to become an Amazon Flex delivery partner?

        • As a delivery partner, you should be at least 18 years old.
        • You need a valid driver’s license and a roadworthy vehicle. 
        • Delivery partners must have a trade license, which can be submitted for up to 90 days afterward.
        • Non-EU citizens need a work permit to work as a self-employed delivery partner in Germany. 
        • Delivery partners must submit a certificate of good conduct (not older than 90 days).
        • Current employees of Amazon are not admitted as delivery partners.
      • 1.1.2. Which legal documents do I need for registration at Amazon Flex?

         To complete registration, you must have the following documents:

        Documents needed directly during registration:

        • Valid driver’s license (EU/EEA/Switzerland)
        • Identity card or passport if you are an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen
        • Residence permit if you are not an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen
        • Certificate of good conduct (not older than 90 days) - tip for you: If you don’t have a certificate of good conduct, apply for it in time. It takes about 7-10 days until you get it. More information about the certificate of good conduct
        • If you are registered for sales tax, we need a letter from your tax office with the tax number

        Documents you should submit up to 90 days after registration:

        • Trade license for delivery/transport of packages/goods 
        • Value-added tax identification number (VAT ID = USt-IdNr.) or tax number: Please note that the tax number of your business is required, not your private tax number - tip for you:  You can apply for your tax number after you have registered your business. After the application, it can take up to 8 weeks until you receive the tax number. More information about taxes

    • 1.2. Registration

      • 1.2.1. How does the registration for Amazon Flex work and how can I register as a delivery partner?

        You simply go through the registration process step by step. Each step will be explained to you in detail and it will be communicated to you with documents and certificates you must upload. You proceed as follows:

        Step 1. Register with your name, email address, and postcode on our website https://amazon-flex.de/.

        Step 2. You will receive an email with a link to the app download: https://flex.amazon.de/download-app

        Step 3. Download the app and log in with your Amazon account. If you don’t have an Amazon account yet, create a new one.

        Step 4. Follow the steps of the app and provide the required information in your app until all checkboxes are green.

        Step 5. After registering in the app, you will be prompted to perform a background check through the Accurate Portal. 

        After your registration in the app (step 1) you will receive an email from customer_service (at) accurate.com. Click on the link to register on “MyPortal.accuratebackground.com” and upload the following documents:

        • EU/ EEA driver’s license (a legible copy of the front and back of the license).
        • A copy of your passport or identity card (an easy to read a copy of the photo page) if you are an EU/ EEA/ Swiss citizen.
        • A copy of your residence permit (front and back with other documents if necessary) if you are not an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen.
        • Certificate of good conduct (an easy to read copy), the document must not be older than 90 days.

        The verification of the documents can take between 5 and 10 working days. More information about the background check

        Step 6. After a successful background check, you will be automatically activated in your Amazon Flex App. You can then view offers and book your delivery blocks.

      • 1.2.2. What should I do if my region is not available during the registration process?

        For regions that are not available during the registration process, no new delivery partners are currently being sought. You cannot continue the registration process if your region is not available. We will notify you by email when we open new regions.

      • 1.2.3. I have completed all onboarding steps in the app, why can’t I see any offers in the app?

        Make sure that all onboarding steps in the app are marked with a green checkmark. You should then be able to choose your preferred delivery location. 

        If you are unable to select a delivery location, this means that we do not need any other delivery partners in your region. In this case, you will have to wait and we will inform you as soon as we need new delivery partners in your region.

      • 1.2.4. What should I do if I have registered but do not receive an email from Amazon?

        We will automatically send an email to the email address you registered with explaining the next steps. Please check the inbox of the email address you registered with. If you do not see an email in your mailbox, please check your spam folder. If you still cannot find an e-mail, please contact our support.

    • 1.3 Registered vehicles

      • 1.3.1. What type of vehicle do I need to deliver Amazon Flex packages? Can I also deliver by bicycle for Amazon Flex?

        • You will need a two- or four-door mid-size sedan or a larger vehicle such as a station wagon or van up to 2.8 tons.
        • Smaller cars, (e.g. Smart), open vehicles (e.g. pick-ups without cover), and bicycles are not allowed.
      • 1.3.2. Can I use a borrowed or rented vehicle?

        • You can use a rented or borrowed vehicle as long as you have all the necessary licenses, permits, insurance certificates, and other permits with you.
    • 1.4 Motor vehicle liability insurance

      • 1.4.1. As an Amazon-Flex partner, do I need special insurance for my car?

        It is your responsibility to know all requirements regarding your car insurance, which are related to the delivery of parcels and food as part of a self-employed activity. We recommend notifying the provider of your car insurance in advance if you wish to become a self-employed delivery partner so that insurance coverage is guaranteed.

      • 1.4.2. My car insurer does not allow me to perform deliveries for Amazon Flex. What are my options?

        You must be properly insured to deliver packages and food. If there is a problem with your insurer, you can also change your insurance provider.

    • 1.5 BG Verkehr

      • 1.5.1 What is the Berufsgenossenschaft (BG) Verkehr?

        The Berufsgenossenschaft (BG) Verkehr is a legally prescribed accident insurance for people working in the logistics and transport industry. The insurance covers accidents at work and on the way to and from work.

        Once you have registered your business, you automatically become a member of the BG Verkehr, which is subject to contributions. After receipt of the trade license, you will receive a letter from BG Verkehr with the corresponding notice of contribution. This can take a few weeks.

        The annual contribution depends on your income and your risk class. The compulsory contribution to be paid is currently 62€ per year (2020). The contributions are tax-deductible.       • 1.5.2 Do I have to become a member of BG Verkehr as an Amazon Flex delivery partner?

        As an independent contractor in the transport industry, you are obliged to be insured with BG Verkehr and to pay the annual membership fee. After registering your business, you automatically become a member of BG Verkehr.

        You can only be exempted from the insurance obligation if you work as a delivery partner less than 15 hours per week or less than 2 months per year or less than 50 days per calendar year.

        To do so, you must fill out the application for exemption from the entrepreneurial insurance and send it together with all necessary documents to BG Verkehr at the following address: BG Verkehr Ottenser Hauptstraße 54 22765 Hamburg

        With the exemption, you are no longer insured with BG Verkehr and do not have to pay any contributions.

        Tip for you: Together with the application for exemption, you must submit a document showing that you will work less than 15 hours per week in your registered trade. This can be, for example, an employment contract for your main occupation, a certificate of study, an ALG II certificate, or a pension statement.

  • 2. Explained in detail: rules and documents for registration

    • 2.1. Trade license

      • 2.1.1. What is a trade license?

        A trade license is an official confirmation that you are allowed to carry out commercial activities as an individual entrepreneur. The trade license is the confirmation of your business registration at the trade office (Gewerbeamt).

      • 2.1.2. Why do I need a trade license for Amazon Flex?

        As a delivery partner at Amazon Flex, you are not an Amazon employee but an independent partner of Amazon. To become an official Amazon Flex supplier in Germany, you must have an official work permit and you need your own business, which is under your name.

      • 2.1.3. Where should I submit my trade license?

        Please send us your trade license by email to amazonflex-onboarding (at) amazon.de

      • 2.1.4. How and where can I obtain a trade license?

        You receive your trade license by registering your business (under your name). To do this, you must first find your local trade licensing office where you register your business. Depending on the local authority you have to appear in person for the application or you can submit it in writing by post or by email. Here you can find your local trade office.

        If you cannot find your responsible authority or if you need support and advice on setting up a business, contact your point of single contact in your federal state. The PSCs are an initiative that each federal state has to support entrepreneurs in setting up their businesses.

        Once you have found your local authority, download the business registration form and send it to your local authority or take it with you to a personal meeting at the authority.

        Required documents and information to take with you or to upload online:

        • Filled-in document from the respective trade office in your city
        • Identity card or passport
        • Non-EU citizens: residence permit
        • Description of the activity to be registered as a deliverer/ delivery partner
        • Name and information of the company to be registered

        After submitting your business application, it may take a few days before your business is activated. Don’t worry about the waiting time; you can submit your trade license within 90 days.

      • 2.1.5 I already have a business but would like to change my job?

        If you have already registered business, you must inform your authorities that you now wish to operate a new business. To do so, you must fill out and submit the form “Gewerbeummeldung.”

      • 2.1.6 What is the difference between a small business and a large business?

        Everyone who participates in the small business regulation, according to §19 UstG., is exempt from VAT. The limit is 22.000€ of annual income. If you exceed the limit of 22.000€, you will lose your status as a small business owner and will be liable to pay VAT. If you are not sure what kind of business you want to register, contact your single point of contact in your federal state. The PSCs are an initiative that each federal state has to support entrepreneurs in setting up their businesses.

      • 2.1.7. How much does a business registration cost?

        The fee for the business registration is between 20€ and 50€.

      • 2.1.8. Can I already start deliveries for Amazon Flex and submit the business registration afterward?

        Yes, you have 90 days to submit your trade license to us.

      • 2.1.9 What happens if I have not submitted my trade license after 90 days?

        If we have not received your trade license within 90 days of your registration, your Amazon Flex account will be deactivated and you will no longer be able to work as an Amazon Flex delivery partner.

    • 2.2. Certificate of good conduct

      • 2.2.1. What is a certificate of good conduct?

        A certificate of conduct is a document that certifies whether you have a criminal record or not. You need a certificate of good conduct for private purposes to work with Amazon Flex. 

      • 2.2.2. How and where do I apply for a certificate of good conduct?

        You can apply for the certificate of good conduct at the residents’ registration office in your city. If you do not have a permanent residence, you can submit your application to the registration office in the district where you are currently residing.
         
        Online and on-site, you have to provide your details, so bring a valid identity card or passport with you. The application is a simple form. Next, the fee of 13€ must be paid directly at the time of the request. An extended certificate of good conduct is more expensive, so make sure you apply for the correct certificate (certificate of good conduct for private purposes). The certificate of good conduct will be sent to you by post within 10 working days. 

      • 2.2.3 How much does a certificate of good conduct cost?

        The fee for the certificate of good conduct is 13 € and must be paid at the time of the request. These costs will not be refunded by Amazon.

      • 2.2.4. How long does it take to receive a certificate of good conduct?

        The certificate of good conduct will be sent to you by mail within 10 working days after application.

    • 2.3. Background check

      • 2.3.1. What is a legal background check and what is being checked?

        If you want to become an Amazon Flex delivery partner, a background check must be carried out. Your documents and certificates will be checked by our partner Accurate. 

        The background check is done to verify that you have a valid driver’s license and to determine if you have any relevant criminal convictions. This is important because you will be in direct contact with our customers, working with shipments that are subject to postal secrecy and maybe transporting valuable goods. The background check will also verify if you have a work permit and are allowed to work as an independent delivery partner in Germany.

        Your driver’s license, criminal record, and identity document are checked. For all EU, EEA, or Swiss citizens we need a copy of your passport or identity card. For citizens from other countries, we need a residence permit for Germany. Within the background check, there is no credit check.

      • 2.3.2. How do I complete the background check successfully?

        The background check is not carried out by Amazon, but by a partner company, Accurate Background. After you have uploaded all relevant information to the Accurate Background portal, Accurate’s background check process will start. Follow these instructions and make sure that you send all necessary documents to the Accurate portal. The review process can take up to 10 business days. If the background check has not yet started in your Amazon Flex app, please follow these steps:

        Step 1. Search your inbox for an email from customer_service (at) accurate.com and click the link to register at „MyPortal.accuratebackground.com“
        Step 2. Register by entering your email address and creating a password.
        Step 3. A confirmation message will appear and your reference number will be displayed.
        Step 4. Click on the “Get started” button to start the process.
        Step 5. Then you can start the background check. Click on “Continue” to start the first step “Electronic consent form”.
        Step 6. After you have signed the consent form, you can enter your data and your address.
        Step 7. Then upload all the required documents one after the other and confirm the transmission.
        Step 8. Accurate will review your documents and complete the background check.

      • 2.3.3. How do I start the background check?

        You will receive an email from customer_service (at) accurate.com with a link to the Accurate Background Portal. Click on the link and create an account.

      • 2.3.4. What documents do I need to upload for the background check?

        • EU/ EEA driver’s license (an easy to read a copy of the front and back of the license).

      • 2.3.5 How do I upload the required documents for the background check?

        As soon as you reach the section “Other documents,” you can upload 3 documents: Certificate of good conduct, passport/ID card, and your driver’s license.

        Select files (as jpg, png, doc, or PDF) and save them.

         

      • 2.3.6 How long does the background check take?

        The background check can usually take between 5-10 working days once you have uploaded all the necessary documents. If you have any questions regarding the background check, please contact Accurate Background by email: customer_service (at) accurate.com or call 0800-182-5613. You will need your reference number, which can be found in the Accurate Background email.

      • 2.3.7.What should I do if I need to change the information in my background check?

        To change the information provided in the background check request, contact Accurate Background at 0049-800-182-5613 or via email at customer_service (at) accurate.com. You will need your reference number, which you can find in the Accurate Background email.

      • 2.3.8. I forgot my password for Accurate Portal, how can I log in to complete the necessary steps?

        Go to MyPortal Login and click on "forgot your password". After entering your e-mail, you can reset your password.

      • 2.3.9. I did not receive an email with a link from Accurate, how can I register for the background check?

        Immediately after you create an account in the Amazon Flex app, you will receive an email from Accurate with a link that will take you directly to the Accurate portal. Here you can start your background check process. If you do not see an email in your inbox, please check your spam folder.

      • 2.3.10. I have problems with uploading files/the uploaded files are not displayed in the list of uploaded documents. What should I do?

        You can reach Accurate Customer Service through Live Chat. The customer service is available 24 hours a day and responds very quickly. If the upload process of your documents still does not work, you can send the files directly to their email: customer_service (at) accurate.com

    • 2.4 Taxes

      • 2.4.1. What information do I need to complete the tax questionnaire section during onboarding?

        As an Amazon Flex delivery partner, you are self-employed. For the tax questionnaire section, you must have either the German tax number of your business or the Value-added tax identification number (VAT ID = USt-IdNr.) ready. 

        Tip for you: If you would like to receive invoices with VAT shown (19%), you must either register for VAT and provide your VAT ID number or upload a tax certificate from the tax office with your tax number.

        If you have not yet received the tax number of your trade from the tax office, you can skip this step in the app and upload your tax number later in the app. You have 90 days to do so.

      • 2.4.2. What is the difference between a tax number and a sales tax identification number (VAT ID = USt-IdNr)?

        • The tax number consists of between 10 and 13 digits (e.g. 123/456/78910). You will receive this number from your local tax office after you have registered your trade license. Tip for you: Make sure that you submit the tax number of your business and not your personal tax number in the app. 
        • The sales tax ID number (VAT ID) consists of 11 digits and usually starts with DE (e.g. DE123456789). The VAT ID number is required for regular entrepreneurs who maintain business relations within Europe. 
        • As a small business with an annual income <22.000€ you can apply for a VAT ID number, but it is not mandatory. The indication of the tax number is sufficient. Here you can find more information about the VAT identification number.
      • 2.4.3. How do I get a tax number for my business?

        You can apply for a tax number after you have applied for your trade license. Your local tax office will send you a letter or email with a form known as the tax questionnaire. Here you can find the tax questionnaire for Bavaria as an example. You have to fill out the questionnaire and return it to the tax office. 
        Tip for you: It can take up to 8 weeks until you receive your tax number from the tax office. So make sure to apply for it in time.

      • 2.4.4. What is the difference between a self-employed person and a permanent employee?

        As a delivery partner, you work for Amazon Flex as a self-employed person and do not work as an employee. No taxes are deducted from your remuneration in advance, as it is the case with employees. As a self-employed person, you must submit an annual income tax return to your local tax office, so that any additional taxes that may be payable can be incurred.

      • 2.4.5. What is the difference between a small business and a large business?

        As a delivery partner, you work for Amazon Flex as a self-employed person and do not work as an employee. No taxes are deducted from your remuneration in advance, as it is the case with employees. As a self-employed person, you must submit an annual income tax return to your local tax office, so that any additional taxes that may be payable can be incurred. 
        According to §19 UStG, a small business is one whose turnover plus VAT did not exceed 22,000 euros in the previous calendar year and is not expected to exceed 50,000 euros in the current calendar year. If you exceed the limit of €22,000, you will lose your status as a small business owner and thus become liable to pay VAT.

      • 2.4.6 How do I receive invoices with VAT stated?

        If your turnover is higher than the limits in point 2.4.5. go to the section Tax questionnaire in the app and answer the question below with “yes”.

        Once you have selected “Yes”, you must upload a document confirming that your business is registered for tax purposes. If this document is valid, you can receive VAT payments and invoices with stated VAT.

      • 2.4.7. What documents are accepted for VAT registration?

        You should get the tax certificate from your local tax office. The document contains your tax number and your name. This document states whether you are registered for VAT. 
        Below you can see some examples of suitable documents. The format of the document may vary from state to state.

    • 2.5 Official work permit for non-EU citizens

      • 2.5.1. What is a residence permit?

        • A residence title allows you as a non-EU citizen to enter and stay in Germany. 
        • A residence title is always earmarked and limited in time, i.e. you are only allowed to stay in Germany for a certain time and a specific purpose. 
        • There are different residence titles for foreigners: the residence permit, the Blue Card EU, the ICT card, the Mobiler-ICT card, the permit for permanent residence EU, the settlement permit, and the visa.
      • 2.5.2. What information does a residence permit contain?

        • A residence permit is a document that allows citizens of non-EU countries to stay in one of the EU Member States.
        • In Germany, a residence title is issued in the form of an electronic chip card. The card contains a chip with personal data, information on residence and employment requirements as well as a photograph and fingerprints of the holder.
      • 2.5.3. Which visa/residence permit do I need?

        • You may not work in Germany with every residence permit or visa, for example, tourist and visitor visas are not suitable.
        • To work as a supplier for Amazon Flex, you need a residence permit for self-employment. If you are not sure whether you are allowed to work as a self-employed person with your residence permit, please contact your local immigration office.
      • 2.5.4. Can I work if I am unemployed?

        • Unemployed persons receiving Unemployment Benefit 1 (Arbeitslosengeld 1 = ALG1) can work as self-employed on the side, but for less than 15 hours per week.
        • Unemployed persons are allowed to earn a total of €165 per month in addition to Unemployment Benefit 1 through a self-employed secondary activity. If one earns more, the additional net income is offset against Unemployment Benefit 1. The additional income above 165€ is therefore deducted from Unemployment Benefit.
        • Exception: If you have already worked as self-employed for 18 months and then become unemployed, you may continue to earn as much extra income as you earned as a self-employed in the last 12 months, without deduction of Unemployment Benefit 1.
  • 3. The Amazon Flex app

    • 3.1. Minimum requirements for my Smartphone

      • 3.1.1. What are the minimum requirements for an Android phone?

        • Android 6.0 or higher
        • iOS 5 or higher
        • RAM 2 GB or higher
        • Camera with flash
        • GPS location service
        • SIM card
      • 3.1.2. What are the minimum requirements for an iPhone?

        • iOS 10.3 or higher 
        • iPhone 5 or later model
    • 3.2. App Download & App Problems

      • 3.2.1. Where can I download the Amazon Flex App?

        If you have an iPhone, you can download the app from the App Store. To do so, enter "Amazon Flex" in the search bar in the App Store and the Amazon Flex App will be displayed. For owners of an Android smartphone, the app is not directly available via Play Store but via the URL https://flex.amazon.de/download-app.

      • 3.2.2. How can I download the app again?

        Download the Amazon Flex app by typing this URL into your phone’s web browser: https://flex.amazon.de/download-app

      • 3.2.3.I know that I downloaded the Amazon Flex app to my Android smartphone but how do I find it?

        Go to the Google Play Store and follow these steps:

        • Download the free app file manager from ZENUI, ASUS Computer.
        • Search the App File Manager for “signed” or “delivered” and tap the Amazon Flex app to open it.
      • 3.2.4.I downloaded the app, but I received an error message. What do I do now?

        Find the error message you received below and follow the instructions.

        Installation blocked

        • On your Android phone, go to Security > Settings.
        • Select Unknown sources and allow installation of apps from unknown sources

        Technical error (error code 334)

        Try the following options:

        A. Check if your Android smartphone is compatible with the Amazon-Flex app

        • Android 6.0 or higher
        • RAM 2 GB or higher
        • Camera with flash
        • GPS location service
        • SIM card

         

        B. Change the language on your Android smartphone to English

        • On your Android smartphone, go to Security > Settings > Language and Input.
        • Tap Language, and then select English (Germany).

        C. Turn off or uninstall any apps that change the lighting on your phone based on the time of day.

        Other error messages

        If the solutions above are not solving your problem, try enabling the location settings

        • On your Android phone, go to Security > Settings.
        • Tap “Location” to activate it. If “Location” is already enabled, tap to disable it. Then tap again to reactivate it.
      • 3.2.5. Problems with scanning the package

        Make sure your smartphone is running Android 6.0 or higher.

    • 3.3. Your Amazon Flex account

      • 3.3.1. Do I have to log in to the Amazon Flex App with an Amazon account?

        If you register for Amazon Flex, you can use your existing Amazon account. You can also create a new Amazon account and use it for Amazon Flex.

      • 3.3.2.I have forgotten my password. How can I reset it?

        You can change your password by following these steps:

        • Go to Amazon.de.
        • Click or tap on My Account > Login and Security
        • Next to Password, click or tap “Forgot Password”
        • Enter your email address or mobile phone number
        • You will receive an email with a link to reset your password
      • 3.3.3. Can I create more than one Amazon-Flex account?

        No, you can only have one Amazon Flex account.

      • 3.3.4. How do I update my password?

        You can change your password by following these steps:

        • Log in to Amazon.de
        • Click or tap on Your Account > Login & Security
        • Click or tap “Edit” next to the Password line
        • Enter your current password and the new password and click or tap “Save changes”
      • 3.3.5. How do I update the email address in my account?

        You can change your email address by following these steps:

        • Log in to Amazon.de using the email address and password currently associated with your Amazon Flex account
        • Click or tap Your Account > Login & security
        • Click or tap Edit next to the Email line
        • Enter your new email address and password and click or tap Save changes
      • 3.3.6. How do I update the email address or phone number associated with my account?

        Once you have completed the onboarding steps in the app, you can update your address and phone number in the app by selecting Account > Basic Information.

      • 3.3.7.How do I update the expiry date of my driver’s license?

        After completing the onboarding steps in the app, you can update your driver’s license information by going to “Settings”> Personal Information > Driver’s License.

      • 3.3.8. What if I move and want to change my region in the app?

        Send us an email to amazonflex-support (at) amazon.de via the app with the region you want to be assigned. Once we receive your request, we will update your region in the app. Please remember to clear your availability in the app to ensure that you do not receive offers during the transfer.

  • 4. Be a delivery partner for Amazon Flex

    • 4.1. Your first day

      • 4.1.1. Do I have to bring anything, or do I have to wear special clothes?

        Please always bring a safety vest when you deliver for Amazon Flex. Otherwise, as an independent contractor, you can bring whatever you want to support the delivery.

      • 4.1.2. What do I do when I arrive at the delivery station?

        Type or wipe “I have arrived” when you arrive at the delivery station. Depending on the delivery point, you may need to show your driver’s license to the manager or security guard.

      • 4.1.3. Where do I pick up my packages to be delivered?

        Once you have reserved a delivery block for yourself, you will receive all the necessary information about your assignment. This includes the address of the Amazon pick-up point, which is available in each specified city.

      • 4.1.4. Where do I start the delivery?

        Your block begins at an Amazon.de or Prime Now distribution center. The address is displayed in the app one hour before the block starts.

      • 4.1.5. What do I do if I have a delivery question on the way?

        Tap Help in the top right corner of the app to call support.

      • 4.1.6. What will I deliver?

        You will deliver Amazon packages. There are tens of thousands of products available on Amazon, including electrical goods, home appliances, various foods, beverages, and more.

    • 4.2. Plan delivery blocks

      • 4.2.1. How can I reserve a delivery block?

        There are two ways to get delivery blocks:

        • Go to Calendar in the Amazon Flex app to update your availability. You will then receive offers for delivery blocks that are available only to you based on the dates you specify. You must accept or decline these offers before they expire.
        • To accept offers during the day, tap Check for Available Blocks on the Amazon Flex homepage. These offers, which are available to all users, can be posted up to 24 hours before the block starts.
      • 4.2.2. How do I know if the requested delivery block has been confirmed?

        When you accept an offer, you will receive a confirmation message in the app. To view your upcoming delivery blocks, go to the calendar. Orange dots indicate that you have a confirmed delivery block on that date.

      • 4.2.3. What happens if there is an incident and I cannot perform deliveries within the confirmed delivery block?

        If you anticipate that you will be late or unavailable for a delivery block, open the calendar in the Amazon Flex app, tap the day of a scheduled block, and then tap Block Delivery at least 45 minutes before it starts.

      • 4.2.4. What does it mean when orange dots appear on my calendar?

        Orange dots mean that you have accepted an offer for a delivery block on that day.

      • 4.2.5. Is there a minimum number of deliveries I need to perform for Amazon Flex to continue?

        There is no minimum number of deliveries required to continue to be a delivery partner for Amazon Flex.

      • 4.2.6. Can I plan Amazon Flex as a full-time job that I use for my livelihood?

        Amazon Flex offers its delivery partners a flexible opportunity to earn extra money in their spare time. The available delivery blocks may vary from week to week and are not guaranteed. It is not a full-time job.

      • 4.2.7. From when to when and how long can I work as a delivery partner per day?

        You can deliver parcels between 8 am and 10 pm, but no more than 8 hours per day. A delivery block takes between 2 and 4 hours. You can make several delivery blocks per day.

      • 4.2.8. What can I do if I have not received a quote for delivery blocks for weeks?

        If you have not received delivery block offers from Amazon for a long time, we recommend that you extend your set availabilities. This increases your chances of receiving more delivery block offers. We will also inform you every Friday at noon about free delivery blocks for the upcoming week regardless of your preferences - be quick and reserve your preferred delivery blocks right away!

    • 4.3. Employment relationship

      • 4.3.1. Do I receive an employment contract from Amazon Flex?

        No. Delivery partners are independent contractors. There is no employment relationship between the contractor (you) and the client (Amazon Flex). During your registration in the Amazon Flex App, you merely declare your agreement with the terms and conditions of the contract.

      • 4.3.2. How often can I make deliveries? Can I plan Amazon Flex as a full-time job and earn my living?

      • 4.3.3. Is there a minimum number of delivery blocks I have to perform for Amazon Flex to continue to be an Amazon Flex delivery partner of it?

        It is not necessary to perform a minimum number of deliveries to continue working as a delivery partner for Amazon Flex.

      • 4.3.4. When does my activity start?

        Your activity begins as soon as you have scanned yourself as “present” at the respective pick-up station. Please note that you should always arrive at the pick-up station 15 minutes before the specified time.

      • 4.3.5.Is there a fixed number of parcels that I must deliver per delivery block?

        No. The number of packages varies depending on the delivery block.

      • 4.3.6. Can I select specific delivery areas or product types?

        Amazon Flex delivery partners currently cannot select specific delivery areas or special package content.

      • 4.3.7. How can I quit as a delivery partner?

        As a delivery partner, you can stop or pause your activity at Amazon Flex at any time. If you would like to permanently deactivate your account, write an email to our support: amazonflex-support (at) amazon.de.

      • 4.3.8. Can my employees perform Amazon Flex deliveries for me?

        No. The person to whom the trade license is issued must be the person who delivers the packages. If additional people from your work environment want to deliver for Amazon Flex, they need their own trade license and they have to complete the registration process themselves.

      • 4.3.9. How is the liability for loss of parcels regulated?

        As a self-employed delivery partner of Amazon, you are responsible for ensuring that the packages arrive undamaged to our customers. In the 15 minutes before the start of your delivery block, you check-in at the delivery station and you also scan all packages you are going to deliver. In this way you control the number of packages you will deliver. If a parcel is damaged or lost during delivery, the responsibility is yours

      • 4.3.10. Is payment on a 450€ basis possible?

        Amazon Flex employs self-employed delivery partners. This means that you do not get a contract as an employee but are a self-employed partner. You carry out deliveries on behalf of Amazon Flex and receive payment for this. An employment relationship on a 450€ basis is therefore not possible.

    • 4.4. Payment

      • 4.4.1. How much does one earn at Amazon Flex?

        The app shows you the estimated revenue you will receive for each confirmed delivery block, as well as the estimated time it will take to deliver all shipments in each block. The current payment is 25€ per hour.

      • 4.4.2. Is the 25€ payment per hour net or gross?

        The remuneration (payment) is a net amount. If you provide taxable services (not small businesses) to us, we will invoice the net amount plus VAT at the statutory rate.

      • 4.4.3. When is the payment of the remuneration made?

        Your fee is paid weekly and is transferred directly to your bank account.

      • 4.4.4. Do I have to send an invoice to Amazon?

        No, Amazon Flex uses the credit memo procedure to settle invoices.

      • 4.4.5. Will I be reimbursed for the kilometers driven, parking fees, or other charges?

        No, you will not be reimbursed for mileage, parking fees, fuel costs, or other charges. Since you are an independent contractor, you must pay your expenses and any additional costs associated with your Amazon Flex delivery services.
